Small Business should join DADBA

What is DADBA?  It is the premier business association here in the Downriver and Detroit area. There are nearly 500 members and counting. There are weekly meetings where you can network and discuss various topics. Every meeting we have attended are productive and positive. All the members are great and work together to help each other out whether it's through referral or direct dealings.

You can use the location to meet with clients, have a staff meeting or just hang around. Membership is affordable and most meetings are free of charge. Contact Laura Wyat by visiting the DADBA website.

Business Networking is a Must for Small Businesses!

We went to a productive Business Networking meeting this morning. The event was hosted by the Downriver and Detroit Business Association with the special guest Chef Brian Ramirez Great meeting and an even better breakfast!

I have been at fault for not networking for our business as much as we should. It's tough to drag yourself out of bed for early morning meeting, or stop what your doing in the middle of the day to go to a luncheon, or even worse, keep motivated at night to catch an evening meeting. But every time I have made it a point to attend a networking event it has paid off!

This had made me realize, as important as it is produce our products, it is MORE important to gain clients so we have products to produce! I am grateful to other small businesses that do attend these meetings. I know they are feeling just as tired, overwhelmed or perhaps unmotivated as I do when attending these meetings. But once you get the swing of talking, exchanging information, my mind lights right up and the motivation and the passion comes right back.

The drive and passion of doing what we do is the whole reason for owning your own business right? Without it, what is the point? So I wanted to express my thoughts and appreciation to DADBA and all other business associations for giving small business owners like me an opportunity to not only claim new clients, but during these trying economic times, to claim my driving passion for my business again.
